Now let’s find out in detail about each of the 5 most popular Barcelona pass options out there:

1. Go Barcelona Pass

Barcelona Passes – which one is worth the money barcelona pass

Go Barcelona Pass is a sightseeing pass that offers you free entry to more than 20 top Barcelona tourist attractions in the city + a free guidebook + Hop On Hop Off Bus tour for 24 hours.

There are 2 options for this pass – All-Inclusive and Explorer:

1.1. All-Inclusive Go Barcelona Pass

2 Day Pass – 104€

Barcelona Passes – which one is worth the money gaudi casa batllo

Sample calculation:

Out of all of the 20+ tourist attractions included in the Go Barcelona Pass with free entry, I selected some of the best ones that you will be able to do in 2 days only:

Barcelona Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour for 24 hours (30€) + Casa Batlló (35€) + Casa Milá – La Pedrera (25€) + Las Golondrinas Barcelona Boat Cruise – 60’ mins (9.50€) + Barcelona Aquarium (30€)

30 + 35 + 25 + 9.50 + 30 = 129.50€

YOU SAVE: 129.50 – 104 = 25.50€

This is a very good value and you’ll save money!

3 Day Pass – 129€

Barcelona Passes – which one is worth the money barcelona 5

Sample calculation: Now that we have more time, let’s say you want to have this itinerary:

Barcelona Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour for 24 hours (30€) + Casa Batlló (35€) + Casa Milá – La Pedrera (25€) + Las Golondrinas Barcelona Boat Cruise – 60’ mins (9.50€) + Barcelona Aquarium (30€) + Poble Espanyol (14€) + Barcelona Zoo (21.40€)

30 + 35 + 25 + 9.50 + 30 + 14 + 21.40 = 164.90€

YOU SAVE: 164.90 – 129 = 35.90€/person

This is a very good deal as you will save money – over 35€ per person!

5 Day Pass – 149€

Sample calculation: I added 3 more activities:

Barcelona Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour for 24 hours (30€) + Casa Batlló (35€) + Casa Milá – La Pedrera (25€) + Las Golondrinas Barcelona Boat Cruise – 60’ mins (9.50€) + Barcelona Aquarium (30€) + Poble Espanyol (14€) + Barcelona Zoo (21.40€) + FC Barcelona Camp Nou Stadium Tour (28€) + Ciutadella Segway Tour (29€) + Casa Vicens (22€)

30 + 35 + 25 + 9.50 + 30 + 14 + 21.40 + 28 + 29 + 22 = 243.90€

YOU SAVE: 243.90 – 149 = 94.9€

Needless to say, this is a great save! Even if you won’t have time or you won’t want to visit everything I listed above (maybe you want to omit the stadium tour, who knows?) and go to all the tours and even if you swap some of them with Sagrada Familia, Park Guell or other attractions that are not included, you’ll still save at least around 20€ with this Go Barcelona Pass!

1.2. Explorer

barcelona spain monument

This Go Barcelona Pass option is for the ones out there that want to be a bit more flexible while they travel. Instead of choosing a number of consecutive days for all the attractions you want to visit during your trip to Barcelona, you’ll choose a number of attractions instead and then you’ll have time to visit them over a period of time of 30 days.

There are also different options here:

  • 2 choice Go Barcelona pass – 59€
  • 3 choice Go Barcelona pass – 79€
  • 4 choice Go Barcelona pass – 99€
  • 5 choice Go Barcelona pass – 114€
  • 6 choice Go Barcelona pass – 123€
  • 7 choice Go Barcelona pass – 129€

This time it really depends on what you’ll want to visit during your trip to Barcelona, so it would be pretty irrelevant to make a sample calculation for you. But I can tell you, for example, that for the 3 choice pass, if you choose the Barcelona Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour for 24 hours (30€) + Casa Batlló (35€) + Casa Milá – La Pedrera (25€), you’ll save 11€ (90 – 79). So I think this Barcelona pass is one of the greatest options for your trip to Barcelona!

You can also check all the museums, attractions, and tours included in the Go Barcelona pass here.

Pros and cons

Unusual and Fun Things To Do In Barcelona Spain 2

PROS: Great value for money if you are going to use the pass to the fullest – at least 15.21€ saved per person for the cheapest pass! Plus, the pass is fully mobile so you won’t need to print anything or travel anywhere to pick it up!

CONS: The most important attractions (Sagrada Familia, Park Guell) are not included in the pass – you will need to get tickets there individually.

Bottom line, is it worth it?

If you do not mind and want to visit Sagrada Familia and Park Guell individually (or you have been there before) and you love Hop On Hop Off buses, this Barcelona pass will save you a lot of money! 🙂

Where to buy it

The Go Barcelona Pass is fully mobile and you can get it online here – you’ll pay with the credit card and then you’ll receive your pass on your email – fast and easy!

2. Barcelona City Pass

Barcelona Passes – which one is worth the money barcelona city pass

Barcelona City Pass includes skip-the-line entrance to Sagrada Familia (with different options, which I’ll talk about below) + Skip-the-line entrance Park Güell + Aerobus round trip transfer from and to any Barcelona airport + Hop On Hop Off Bus tour for 1 or 2 days + 10% discount on many attractions and other museums.

There are different options for this Barcelona Pass as well, the difference being your Sagrada Familia visit and the Hop On Hop Off bus. You can choose from:

  • Sagrada Familia visit – there are 4 different options to choose from: basic, with audio guide, with Tower and audio guide, with a guided tour
  • Hop On Hop Off bus tour – you can choose from 24 or 48 hours.

The cool thing about this Barcelona pass is that it isn’t limited by time, so you can visit all these attractions at your own pace!

In order to make things easier for you, I’ll make a price comparison for the 4 different Sagrada Familia visit options but the Hop On Hop Off bus tour for 1 day only. Here we go:

2.1. Basic Sagrada Familia Package – 86.5€

1 Sagrada Familia Barcelona sunset inside

The Basic Package pass includes skip-the-line to Sagrada Familia, skip-the-line for Park Guell, Hop On Hop Off Bus, and also the Aerobus round trip.

Sample calculation: Sagrada Familia skip-the-line basic option (20€) + Park Güell skip-the-line (10€) + Barcelona Bus Hop On Hop Off Tourfor 24 hours (30€) + airport Aerobus round trip (10.20€)

20 + 10 + 30 + 10.2 = 70.20€ for El Prat Airport

20 + 10 + 30 + 25 = 85€ for Girona Airport

Unfortunately, for this basic pass, you won’t save money – with one exception! This pass covers the airport transfer round trip from Girona airport too, which is more expensive (25€ instead of 10.20€). In this case, you’ll save a total of 5€/person. Don’t forget about the discounts as well (20% off for many attractions)!

7 Aquarium Barcelona with kids

Some discount examples: Casa Battlo (20% off 25€ = 5€ saved), Casa Mila (20% off 22€ = 4.4€ saved), Barcelona Aquarium (20% off 21€ = 4.2€ saved), Picasso Museum (20% off 12€ = 2.4€ saved), Casa Mila at Night (20% off 34€ = 6.8€ saved), Barcelona Zoo (20% off 21.4€ = 4.28€ saved) and public transportation for 4 days (20% off of 28,8€ = 5,76€ saved)

If you have more time to visit some of these discounted attractions, then this package is totally worth it.

Let’s say you would also go to the most popular museums such as Casa Batllo (5€ saved), Casa Mila (4.4€ saved) and you would use the public transportation with 20% discount for 4 days (5.76€ saved).

5 + 4.4 + 5.76 = 15.16€

You save: from 15.16€ if you go to the most popular attraction and more (from 30€ if you are arriving at Girona airport)

2.2. Audio Guide Sagrada Familia Package – 88€

barcelona overview

Sample calculation: Sagrada Familia skip-the-line + audio guide (26€) + Park Guell skip-the-line (10€) + Barcelona Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour for 24 hours (30€) + airport Aerobus round trip (10.20€)

26 + 10 + 30 + 10.20 = 76.20€ for El Prat Airport

26 + 10 + 30 + 25 = 91€ for Girona Airport

YOU SAVE: 3€ if you’re arriving at Girona Airport

2.3. Tower + Audio Guide Sagrada Familia Package – 98€

Sample calculation: Sagrada Familia skip-the-line + tower + audio guide (33€) + Park Guell skip-the-line (10€) + Barcelona Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour for 24 hours (30€) + airport Aerobus round trip (10.20€)

33 + 10 + 30 + 10.20 = 83.20€ for El Prat Airport

33 + 10 + 30 + 25 = 98€ for Girona Airport

For this option you won’t save money in any combination, but the pass can still be worth it if you make use of the numerous 20% discounts to different attractions such as Casa Batllo, Casa Mila, Picasso Museum and more.

2.4. Guided Tour Sagrada Familia Package – 101€

Sample calculation: Sagrada Familia skip-the-line + tower + audio guide (34.50€) + Park Guell skip-the-line (10€) + Barcelona Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour for 24 hours (30€) + airport Aerobus round trip (10.20€)

34.50 + 10 + 30 + 10.20 = 84.70€ for El Prat Airport

34.50 + 10 + 30 + 25 = 99.50€ for Girona Airport

Again, in this case you won’t save money (or time) if you only make use of the attractions that this Barcelona pass also includes, but do not forget that you can also benefit from a 20% discount for numerous museums and attractions!

DISCOUNT EXAMPLES: Casa Batlló (20% off 25€ = 5€ saved), Casa Mila (20% off 24€ = 4.8€ saved), Aquarium Barcelona (20% off 21€ = 4.2€ saved), Picasso Museum (20% off 12€ = 2.4€ saved), Casa Mila at Night (20% off 34€ = 6.8€ saved), Barcelona Zoo (20% off 21.4€ = 4.28€ saved) and public transportation travel card for 4 days (20% off of 28,8€ = 5,76€ saved)

Let’s say you would also go to the most popular attractions and museums such as Casa Batllo (5€ saved), Casa Mila (4.8€ saved) and you would use the public transportation with 20% discount for 4 days (5.70€ saved).

5 + 4.8 + 5.7 = 15.5€

YOU SAVE: at least 15.5€ more if you go to the most popular attractions and more (from 30€ if you are arriving at Girona airport).

Pros and cons

Barcelona Passes – which one is worth the money park guell 2

PROS: Barcelona City Pass is entirely mobile, so you can buy your pass online, select your desired dates for the aerobus beforehand, Sagrada Familia and Park Guell and then you’ll receive all your tickets via email with instant confirmation. No need to print them or exchange them for an actual card! Plus, this Barcelona pass is not time-dependent (like the other ones for 2, 3, 4 days etc).

CONS: If you’re not a fan of the Hop On Hop Off bus, then this pass isn’t the right thing for you, as it doesn’t also include any public transport card. If you don’t use the 20% discounts as well together with the attractions that this pass also includes then, again, this Barcelona pass won’t be a good idea for your time in the city.

Bottom line, is it worth it?

3 Park Guell Barcelona Free part

Sagrada familia interior Barcelona

3.1. 2 days – 109.9€

YOU SAVE: 109.90 – 79.90 = 30€

3.2. 3 days – 119.9€

YOU SAVE: 211.70 – 139.90 = 71.80€

This seems like a better deal and even if you’d like to get an individual skip-the-line ticket to Park Guell, you will still save a significant amount of money (and time!).

NOTE: Turbo Pass also comes with several discounts for other museums and attractions in Barcelona and around town so you can enjoy your travel time even more. Check all the included discounts and advantages here

Pros and cons

6 Other crowded places in Barcelona

PROS: Unlike the Go Barcelona Pass, the Turbo Pass has the ticket to Sagrada included and free public transportation; also, both of them have the same price for the 3-days option.

CONS: The pass doesn’t include the ticket to Park Guell. Plus, if you want it only for 2 days time, it is not worth the money in my opinion.

Bottom line, is it worth it?

For 2 days is not worth it but the options for 3, 4, and 5 days will save you some money per day (and time!), especially if you want to do and see as many things and locations as possible during your visit.

Pros and cons

Barcelona Passes – which one is worth the money barcelona 4

PROS: Barcelona Card is the perfect deal for people who are planning to see many museums and attractions in Barcelona and who want to use the public transportation daily, including the airport metro/train. You can really make this card worth it especially if you also use your discounts as well (for example for the Camp Nou Stadium Tour, Casa de Les Punxes and more). You can save over 47€ per person!

Check all the prices and discounts here.

Barcelona Passes – which one is worth the money arc de triomphe

CONS: Sagrada Familia and Park Güell (two of Gaudi’s best attractions) are NOT included in the Barcelona Card.

If you are NOT planning to visit many attractions, but simply walk around the city, it might not be worth it in this case. Otherwise, it is probably the best money saver pass on the market.

Bottom line, is it worth it?

I think the Barcelona Card is totally worth it for anyone who has plans to visit most of Barcelona’s attractions by public transportation. You will save a lot of money if you’re the type of traveler who wants to visit at least 2 museums/attractions a day. The Barcelona Card is worth it even if it doesn’t include the tickets for Sagrada Familia and Park Guell – you can buy those individually and you will still get a better price in the end.

Where to buy it

You can buy the Barcelona Card in any of the city’s tourism offices (including in Barcelona airport). You can also buy it online, but you must exchange it for a real card at any of the city’s tourism offices. Your free entry and discounts are only valid once the card has been activated after you arrive in Barcelona, when you will first use it.

5. iVenture Card

There are tons of things to do in Barcelona during one entire week, but let’s name some that are included in the Unlimited pass to see if it’s worth it:

You can check all the included attractions in the iVenture Unlimited Pass here.

Sample calculation: Let’s consider you want to see all the awesome attractions that we mentioned above.

34.5 + 17 + 30 + 25 + 12.6 + 24 + 12 + 9 + 56 + 15.2 + 21 + 55 + 28 = 339.3€

YOU SAVE: 339.3 – 255 = 84.30€

This is an amazing save even if you won’t get to see all the attractions mentioned!

Flexi Pass – 7 days

In case you don’t want to travel all-in with the unlimited pass, you can buy the Flexi pass for premade itineraries. You can choose between 3 or 5 attractions or tours. This pass is available for 7 days as well.

3 activities – 87€

Port Aventura Day Trip Barcelona

Sample calculation #1: Let’s choose 3 best attractions from the list:

Sagrada Familia skip-the-line and Guided tour (34.5€) + Barcelona City Tour Hop-On Hop-Off Bus (30€) + Port Aventura one-day ticket (56€)

34.5 + 30 + 56 = 120.50€

YOU SAVE: 120.5 – 87 = 33.5€

In case you’re not a fan of the Hop-On Hop-Off bus (maybe you’re the type of traveler that prefers a walking tour or a bike tour instead) or Port Aventura, you can choose the main Gaudi attractions from the list:

Sample calculation #2:

Sagrada Familia skip-the-line and Guided tour (34.5€) + Park Guell skip-the-line and Guided tour (17€) + Casa Batllo skip-the-line and audio tour (25€)

34.5 + 17 + 25 = 76.50€

It seems like the best way to make this Barcelona pass really worth it is to select the day tours for the list (if you want to do them, of course!), as they have the biggest value.

5 activities – 138€

Barcelona Passes – which one is worth the money barcelona city 2

Sample calculation:

Sagrada Familia skip-the-line and Guided tour (34.5€) + Park Güell skip-the-line and Guided tour (17€) + Barcelona City Tour Hop-On Hop-Off Bus (30€) + Port Aventura one-day ticket (56€) + Montserrat Morning Half Day Tour and Liquor Tasting (56€)

34.5 + 17 + 30 + 56 + 56 = 193.50€

YOU SAVE: 193.5 – 138 = 55.5€

Again, this is a very good save if you choose the Port Aventura tickets and the Montserrat half day tour. Needless to say that you will also save time as well!

Pros and cons

9 Most crowded places in Barcelona and how to avoid the line

PROS: The iVenture Unlimited pass is ideal for people who are going to spend at least 6 days in the city and enjoy all its top attractions. The iVenture Flexi Pass is a super good deal if you want to do the day tours included on the list (Port Aventura and Montserrat).

CONS: A Barcelona travel card is NOT included in this Barcelona pass. This Barcelona pass may not be such a good idea if you don’t plan to go on any day trips such as PortAventura or on a Montserrat tour, as these are some of the most expensive tickets on the list.

Bottom line, is it worth it?

Unusual and Fun Things To Do In Barcelona Spain 1

The pass is totally worth it for people who are staying in Barcelona for 6-7 days and they want to make the best of it – Hop-On Hop-Off bus, Gaudi attractions, Port Aventura, Montserrat half day tour, boat tour and lots of other skip-the-line tickets. If you choose some less expensive activities, then the Flexi pass might not be worth it.

Where to buy it

You can buy your iVenture Pass online here. After that, you have to exchange it for a real card in any of the Julia Travel collection points in the city center mentioned here. If you don’t want to purchase it online, you can buy it directly from the collection points.

In the end, if you are planning to go to more than 2-3 paid popular attractions while you visit Barcelona, then probably, yes, you will get some good deals if you buy a Barcelona pass. It really depends on what activities you want to do and how much you are planning to travel, if you are going to use the public transport; also if the museums are closed on the day you want to visit etc. Research is key and I hope the comparison table above with each company that offers a Barcelona pass will help you!
