I definitely recommend this area if you want to be in the center of the tourist destination, surrounded by great dining restaurants, shopping, and nightlife options.

Because of its variety, KLCC is the ideal place for regular tourists, families, and even business travelers as here you can find everything you might need, from entertainment to money exchange services and easy public transportation.

3. Bangsar – top neighborhood for foodies

Bangsar is famous for being a residential area but also for being one of the best areas for street food! In this neighborhood, you can find Jalan Telawi, a street with a whole bunch of different restaurants just beside Bansar Baru mall.

It holds a mix of Indian, Malaysian and international food restaurants that you just have to try. The area also has great street food options as well, modern coffee shops, fashion boutiques, and also several cocktail saloons and cool rooftop bars such as the Mantra Rooftop Bar and Lounge, which is known to be one of the best in the city!

This area was named after a known miner and the first local owner of a department store, which was one of the biggest in the city at the time. The area now homes large Indonesian and small African communities.

While you’re in the area, go over to the Bundle Chow Kit Night Market to find great deals of used clothing, spices, and accessories, or walk around to find Southeast Asia’s largest Sikh Temple.

While you’re there, make sure to pay a visit to Petaling Street Market!

Another option where you can find very cheap hotels to stay in is the whole neighborhood of Brickfields, also known as Little India, located right next to Chinatown. With its vibrant textiles shops, countless jewelry stores and some delicious Indian street food, Brickfields offers a similarly unique vibe to Chinatown, both offering a different culture to the Malaysian one.
