Journey across the South Island
New Zealand is known for boasting some dramatic mountain scenery and the country’s South Island is where you’ll find it. The Southern Alps run down the island feature epic mountains like Aoraki Mt. Cook, but also help create beautiful coastal fjords such as Milford Sound.
Queenstown and Christchurch are the two big cities on the South Island, with the former a haven for adventure sports, and the latter a lovely centre of culture. Other important natural sights include the Franz Josef Glacier, Lake Tekapo and Abel Tasman National Park.
