Yesterday was the first Sunday of the month, which mean almost all the museum were free in Paris!
I decided to use the opportunity and went to Musée du quai Branly. Located literally 2 minutes away from the Eiffel tower, it has by far the richest collection of African, Oceanian, American civilizations!
If you are in Paris for more than 5 days and interested in the history of these continents, be sure to visit the museum. You will love it!
Seriously, it is huge, it has 300 000 artifacts (the earliest 2nd millenium BC!) from all over the world. Quai Branly museum is interestingly designed – its green wall is standing out, impossible not to notice while taking a walk on the bank of the river Seine. The idea of bridges connecting each continent is just brilliant. And the spacious garden surrounding the museum just invites you to stroll around and check it out from the inside. The only thing I don’t like is that twilight lighting everywhere in the museum.
I enjoyed the museum that much that I included it in my post about Unusual things to visit in Paris.
The regular price is 9€, more info about the hours and reductions is here.
Probably, it is worth to take an audioguide. But I completely missed it at the entrance and felt too lazy to go back afterwards. So I just wandered around staring at those scary masks. The price of the audio guide is 5 euros, unless you are a student under 26, then it is 3€ for you.
Just so you understand what you will get to see there, I included my pictures as well:
My post about 6 places in Paris with the longest queue (and how to avoid them) will also interest you too!

Nice post, probably a place to get the audio-guide?
Hey David!
The audio guides are right before the long corridor that leads to the main sala, on the left side.
