Best honeymoon destinations in Asia
Asia is possibly the most magical continent – it has breathtaking scenery, gorgeous beaches, friendly people, amazing food, and plenty of opportunities for adventure. So, it comes as no surprise that many of the best honeymoon destinations are right here, so let’s dive into it.
1. The Maldives

With its white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and some of the most luxurious hotels you can imagine, the Maldives offer some of the best places to honeymoon. If you are after an upscale beach vacation surrounded by gorgeous nature, then this is the perfect choice for you.
Seeing as this is such a popular destination among honeymooners, there are plenty of honeymoon packages for you to choose from. The resort you’re staying at will probably offer you quite a few activities and spa treatments, but my top recommendations go out to scuba diving with the manta rays and a boat cruise around the islands.

2. Bali, Indonesia

You’ve probably seen those trending stories of Bali and wondered when it would be your turn to visit. Well, the honeymoon is an excellent opportunity! One of my favorite things about Bali is that there are countless amazing resorts and hotels available at affordable prices, so if you want a tropical getaway on a budget, Bali is the ultimate place to honeymoon.
While in Bali, you absolutely have to explore the lush jungle and visit the beaches that will surely take your breath away. If you’re up for some adventure, you can try various water sports – anything from snorkeling to surfing. Bali is very diverse and has plenty to offer, which is what makes it one of the best island honeymoon destinations.
Finally, if you want to have the ultimate romantic dinner with your new spouse, I highly recommend a sunset sailing cruise; I suggest this one, as it allows you to see the sunset from an excellent vantage point, and it’s great value for money.

3. Cappadocia, Turkey

When looking for unique honeymoon destinations, don’t overlook Cappadocia. This historical region of Turkey is recognizable for its rugged scenery and the hot air balloons dotting the sky. So, if you want something a bit more unusual and adventurous, then I encourage you to book a Cappadocia honeymoon.
Of course, one of the best things you can do here is go on a hot air balloon ride – I recommend going at sunrise! You will also get to explore ancient castles, admire the one-of-a-kind rock formations, go wine tasting, and even stay in a cave without sacrificing any comforts.

4. Krabi, Thailand

Thailand is definitely one of the best places for honeymoon, and honeymooners often opt for Phuket. However, if you want fewer crowds and a more relaxed atmosphere, then I think Krabi will be just the right fit for you. If you do decide to go here, get ready for a tropical island adventure filled with swimming, snorkeling, and exploring ancient temples.
During your Krabi trip, you can choose to lounge away your days on the white sand beaches, but if you’re an adventurous couple, there are plenty of other activities to fill your time; you can go rock climbing, try ziplining, go kayaking, or for the more hardcore water enthusiasts, white-water rafting.

5. Penang, Malaysia

Looking for some hidden gems for your honeymoon? If so, I’ll gladly recommend Penang, an island off the coast of Malaysia. Just like many other Asian islands, Penang boasts stunning beaches as well as important historical and religious sites, and mouth-watering food – all great ingredients for romance.
During your time in Penang, you have to take some time to explore the capital city, George Town, and of course, hit the beach, go swimming, and maybe try something fun – parasailing is quite popular. There are plenty of cool things to do in Penang, and regardless of your travel preference, I have no doubt that you’ll find something to your liking.

Best honeymoon destinations in Europe
Now, on to the Old Continent. Europe has been attracting honeymooners for decades, and for good reasons – offering romantic city escapes, breathtaking islands, historical monuments, and everything in between, it’s definitely a top choice among honeymooners.
6. Amalfi Coast, Italy

The first choice among European honeymoon destinations has to go to the Amalfi Coast. With unbeatable panoramic views of the sea, picturesque architecture, and that famous Italian wine, the area offers endless opportunities for romance. I recommend the Amalfi Coast for couples who want a mix of a beach vacation and an urban getaway.
The Amalfi Coast is dotted with seaside towns recognizable for their colorful houses, and you should visit at least a couple of these amazing towns; I recommend Positano and Sorrento! Don’t miss out on a romantic meal in one of the amazing restaurants, and go for a stroll along the beautiful coast.

7. Rome, Italy

Italy is so romantic – I think it’s one of the most romantic countries on Earth! After all, it is the land of Romeo and Juliet, and although we’re not talking about Verona, I couldn’t wrap up this list without recommending another destination in Italy. Eventually, I decided on Rome, the ultimate place for a romantic city getaway.
Rome has a very rich history and is home to so many amazing landmarks, from fountains and sculptures to ancient buildings and museums. Spend your days exploring the lively streets of the city and indulging in original Italian food; there are many, many great places to eat, and you shouldn’t miss out on trying authentic Italian pasta (and pizza, of course).

8. Paris, France

You didn’t think I would make this list without including the City of Love? Well, of course, I had to talk about Paris! Trips to Paris are one of the most sought-after honeymoon packages, and couples flock to the city to see some of the world’s most famous architectural wonders and artworks and experience a unique cultural immersion.
You’ll have quite a lot of sightseeing to do while in Paris, but don’t forget to take some time to stroll along the Seine, explore the quaint streets and admire the street art, and treat yourself to a dinner with a view at one of the great restaurants overlooking the Eiffel Tower – it’s your honeymoon, you deserve it!

9. Santorini, Greece

The Greek islands are extremely popular among honeymooners, and Santorini takes the top spot. Recognizable for the traditional whitewashed houses with blue roofs, Santorini has some of the most swoon-worthy backdrops, whether you’re looking at the architecture, the sea, or the stunning sunset.
Santorini has some amazing beaches you can explore and plenty of fine dining spots, but seeing as it’s one of the most popular honeymoon destinations, Santorini can be a bit pricey. If this destination is out of your price range, you can consider some other Greek Islands as an alternative; my top picks would be Corfu, Naxos, and Crete.

10. Algarve, Portugal

I love Portugal! I believe it’s one of the best honeymoon destinations in Europe, although it’s a little underrated. I had a tough time choosing what part of Portugal I should recommend, but in the end, I decided to go with the Algarve, the country’s picturesque Southern coast, which would be perfect for a beach getaway full of fun activities.
Here, you find Algar de Benagil (map), one of the best secluded beaches in the world, but also many other beaches, caves, and rock formations that will make you feel like you’ve been transported to another planet. There are also some great surfing spots along the coasts, so if you haven’t tried it yet, your Algarve honeymoon is the perfect opportunity.

11. Scottish Highlands, Scotland

If you’re not the type of person who wants to spend their honeymoon lounging on the beach and you prefer staying somewhere where you’ll be surrounded by serene and surreal nature, then I have just the destination for you – the Scottish Highlands. If you decide to honeymoon here, I can guarantee you’ll have the most peaceful and relaxing vacation ever!
If you don’t like to plan anything, you can just wander around and admire the stunning nature, but I do have a couple of recommendations for you: visit Inverness, the capital city in the region, and take a day trip to the Isle of Skye. You will still enjoy the natural environment but also be able to see some historical landmarks.

12. Iceland

Wondering what’s the Ideal honeymoon destination for adventurous couples? In one word, Iceland! Get ready for an eventful honeymoon and prepare to discover black sand beaches,
hot springs, mud baths, volcanoes, waterfalls, and countless other natural wonders. Iceland truly is a haven for nature lovers and adventurers!
I don’t recommend a specific destination in Iceland, as I think you should explore as much of the country as you possibly can. If you don’t know where to start, check out our day-to-day itinerary and decide what your top priorities are gonna be. And in case you’re traveling to Iceland during Northern Lights season, you’re in for a treat!
TIP: if you like national parks, you have to explore Vatnajökull (map), the largest national park in Europe and home to one of the most famous ice caps in the world!

Best honeymoon destinations in Africa
On to Africa, the continent of jungles, deserts, wild animals, amazing cultures, great food, and lively music. It’s no wonder that more and more people decide to honeymoon on the African continent, and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t, too.
13. Cape Town, South Africa

The capital of South Africa and the country’s oldest city provides stunning views over the surrounding mountain ranges and the ocean, wine farms and boasts a rich urban scene. That is why I decided to recommend Cape Town as one of the best honeymoon destinations in Africa – it’s a modern city surrounded by nature! What more can you ask for?
Cape Town’s Camps Bay Beach (map) is one of the most amazing beaches in the world, where you can enjoy the soft white sand while admiring uninterrupted views of the mountains. You can also explore the bustling city center and take many fun day trips from Cape Town (and even head out on a safari), so I’m sure you won’t be bored for a single second.

14. Zanzibar, Tanzania

Time to explore one of the most memorable African islands – Zanzibar! Nestled in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Tanzania, this island has magical white-sand beaches, rich history, and a vibrant local culture. And if that isn’t enough, the island has a bustling nightlife scene, making it the ideal choice for couples who like to party.
You can easily spend your entire honeymoon sunbathing on the beach all day and partying all night, but there are plenty of other things you can do in Zanzibar. Water sports are a big deal here, and you can try anything from scuba diving to jet skiing, or you can use this opportunity to go on a safari and see the African wildlife.

Bora Bora is an island in French Polynesia and one of the dreamiest honeymoon destinations. If you’re a beach bum, this is THE place for you, as you’ll be enjoying some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with soft white sands and crystal-clear waters. So, if you want a relaxing beach honeymoon, book your ticket to Bora Bora.
Whatever you do in Bora Bora, it will be super romantic! Whether that’s sunbathing on the beach, taking a boat trip around the lagoon, or snorkeling in the stunning coral reef, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And don’t forget to catch a sunset – sunsets in Bora Bora are magical!

16. Fiji

Moving on to another country in the South Pacific, Fiji is definitely one of the best beach honeymoon destinations. Experience a mix of lively culture and serene beach landscapes, and enjoy the locals’ hospitality. I highly recommend Fiji to couples who really want to immerse themselves in another culture and learn new things.
Besides the palm-fringed beaches, Fiji’s inland has gorgeous mountainous landscapes that are definitely worth your time (and energy). You can have an unforgettable stay in one of the incredible Fiji overwater bungalows, but don’t forget to go out of your room and try some delicious local cuisine.

Best honeymoon destinations in the USA
The USA has some truly stunning landscapes and gorgeous beaches, so choosing just 2 destinations was a real challenge for me. Although the 2 spots presented below are among the best honeymoon destinations in the US, keep in mind there’s plenty more to explore!
17. Napa Valley, California, USA

Wine lovers, assemble! We’re going on a trip to Napa Valley, California’s most famous wine country. Here, you can try the best wine you’ve ever tasted, eat delicious local specialties, roam around the vineyards, and, of course, enjoy the scenery for the ultimate relaxing honeymoon.
Even though wine is the staple of the region, there are many other fantastic things to do in Napa Valley; you can embark on a hot air balloon ride, dine at upscale restaurants, visit some museums, and much more. I’d personally recommend getting a bike and cycling around the wine trails.
Other accommodation options in Napa Valley
18. Kauai, Hawaii

Hawaii is the go-to honeymoon destination in the US, and I think the island of Kauai is the perfect spot that will check all the boxes on your wishlist. Tropical forests, palm-fringed beaches, and impressive cliffs are just some of the things that set this island apart; it’s also a great destination for outdoor activities!
If you’re up for a beach romance, Kauai has amazing beaches that provide ample swimming and snorkeling opportunities. But if you’d like to stay a little more active, go hiking in one of the island’s national parks, do some kayaking, or, if you feel up to it, go on a helicopter tour over the islands – the views are unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Best honeymoon destinations in the Caribbean
From the US, we move on to the Caribbean, home to some of the top honeymoon destinations for island lovers. Once again, choosing just a few was extremely difficult, as the Caribbean Sea is dotted with dreamy islands ideal for a honeymoon.
19. St. Lucia

First up on my list of the best Caribbean honeymoon destinations is St. Lucia, a picturesque island country that boasts everything from pristine beaches to lush greenery. I’d recommend this particular destination to beach lovers who like to stay active and explore natural wonders.
Other than basking on the beach, I suggest you also take a day to hike the famous mountains, the Pitons, try the mud baths, and go see a volcano. You also cannot leave the island without trying some local food, beer, and rum – don’t miss out on that unique Caribbean rum!

20. Jamaica

If you’re looking for the best honeymoon destinations on a budget, Jamaica is definitely a strong contender. It is the most affordable of the Caribbean islands and just as beautiful as the rest of them, so you can still have an unforgettable honeymoon on a budget and get to know a very distinct culture.
Kingston, the capital of Jamaica, will certainly entertain you if you decide to visit, but if you’re looking for the best beaches, then Montego Bay is the place to be. Even though the beaches here are undeniably stunning, you can also take a boat trip out on the water or embark on a Rastafari ATV adventure!
Other accommodation options in Jamaica
21. Turks and Caicos

My last recommendation for a honeymoon in the Caribbean goes out to the Turks and Caicos Islands. Consisting of more than 40 islands, Turks and Caicos is an ideal spot for island hopping, as well as one of the best tropical honeymoon destinations, with its gorgeous beaches and incredible marine life.
The turquoise waters surrounding Turks and Caicos are perfect for a relaxing swim, but they’re also very well-suited for water sports. If you go snorkeling, you get to see an amazing barrier reef, and if you choose a clear kayak tour, you’ll be able to admire the marine wildlife native to the region.

Best honeymoon destinations in South America
Lastly, we wrap things up in South America with 2 more great honeymoon destinations. Although I could definitely list a couple more just off the top of my head, these 2 are definitely the top choices for your honeymoon.

The Colombian city of Cartagena is one of the best affordable honeymoon destinations that allows you to explore historical sites, experience a vibrant nightlife scene, and enjoy some incredible beaches. Plus, it has an amazing fine dining scene and a variety of street foods, making it a paradise for food lovers.
During your stay in the city, make sure you go through at least some of the must-see attractions in Cartagena and take some time to walk around town and snap photos of the buildings. Finally, my favorite thing to recommend, take a day trip to the Rosario Islands where you can snorkel and swim in the turquoise waters.
Other accommodation options in Cartagena
23. The Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

We’ve finally reached the last of the best honeymoon destinations and one of the most unique places on this list – the Galapagos Islands. These islands are the perfect destination for nature lovers who like to explore unusual landscapes and admire one-of-a-kind animals and plants.
Before you go, you should know that the islands are under special conservation laws to protect the natural habitat of many endangered species, so you need to be mindful of your actions and how they affect the environment. Trust me, it will be worth it when you see the famous Galapagos giant tortoises and marine iguanas.
